  1. ABOUT THE COMPANION CD-ROM
  2. =============================================
  3. The CD-ROM included with your copy of Looking Good In Print contains valuable
  4. software programs, textures, and icons.
  5.

  7. To view the CD-ROM
  8. ---------------------------------------------
  9. Macintosh - Double click on the LAUNCHME icon after opening the CD on your
  10. desktop.
  11.  
  12. Windows 3.1/Windows 95/Windows NT - Double click on the LAUNCHME.EXE file from
  13. your Windows Explorer or File Manager.
  14.  
  15. You'll see a menu screen offering several choices. See "Navigating the CD-ROM"
  16. below for your     options.

  19. Navigating the CD-ROM
  20. ---------------------------------------------
  21. Your choices for navigating the CD-ROM appear on the opening screen. You can
  22. view the software, browse the Hot Picks, learn more about Ventana, or quit the
  23. viewer.

  25. If the viewer does not run properly on your machine, follow the following
  26. instructions for optimum performance:
  27.

  29. For optimum WINDOWS performance:
  30. 1. Copy the LAUNCHME.EXE and LAUNCHME.INI files to the same directory on your
  31. hard drive.
  32. 2. Open the LAUNCHME.INI file in a text editor such as Notepad.
  33. 3. Find the section in the .INI file that reads:
  34.      [Memory]
  35.      ;ExtraMemory=400
  36.      ; Amount of kBytes over and above physical memory for use by a projector.
  37. 4. If your computer has enough memory to do so, delete the semicolon from the
  38. ExtraMemory line, and change the ExtraMemory setting to a higher number.
  39. 5. Save the changes to the LAUNCHME.INI file, and close the text editor.
  40. 6. With the CD-ROM still inserted, launch the viewer from the hard drive.

  42. If the viewer still does not run properly on your machine, you can access the
  43. material on the CD-ROM directly through File Manager (Windows 3.x) or Windows
  44. Explorer (Windows 95).

  47. For optimum MACINTOSH performance:
  48. 1. Copy the Launch Me file to your hard drive.
  49. 2. Click once on the Launch Me file.
  50. 3. Select Get Info from the File menu.
  51. 4. If your computer has enough memory to do so, change the amount in the
  52. Preferred size field to a higher number.
  53. 5. Close the info box.
  54. 6. With the CD-ROM still inserted, launch the viewer from the hard drive.

  56. If the viewer still does not run properly on your machine, you can access the
  57. files on the CD-ROM directly by double-clicking on its icon on the desktop.

  110. The clip art found on this CD is from different sources.  The first images
  111. (icon001.jpg through icon057.jpg) were created by Kevin Dixon of Chapel Hill,
  112. NC.  The remaining images (icon058.jpg through icon283.jpg) were taken from a
  113. collection of clip art on the Web at http://leviathan.tamu.edu:70/.  This
  114. collection was put together by Extension Computer Technology, a support
  115. department in the Texas Agricultural Extension Service (TAEX).  The original
  116. images came from several different sources:  the Department of Agriculture
  117. Communications at TAMUS (DAC), the Computer Technology Group at TAEX and TAMUS
  118. (CTG), the Illinois Cooperative Extension Service (IL CES), the Epsilon Sigma
  119. Phi Extension National Honor Fraternity, (ESP) and the Institute of Food and
  120. Agricultural Sciences, University 
  121. of Florida (IFAS).
